My current build:

Barbed trap
Flame trap
Dust trap
Throw dirt
Whirling def.
Oath Shot {E}
Troll Unguent
Rez Sig.

R/Me
12 Wilderness
12 Expert.

This build uses a staff as its primary weapon and a bow to get oath shot off. Between Dust trap, throw dirt, and barbed trap I can keep warriors and rangers at bay for most if not all of the match, but I seem to have a problem dealing with casters. So any suggestions about dealing with casters with a trapper or any trapper suggestions in general would be great.

Do you mean taking the enemy casters dead?Or just taking less damage from some of the eles?If your trying to get less damage from eles Dryder's Defense works nicely

The thing is, if I'm in a team against a ranger/warrior heavy team, I can almost decemate them with constant blinding, crippling, bleeding, and burning; but when I fight a caster heavy team I find myself casting traps which aren't doing much in terms of impairing the other team.

So I guess I'm asking whats a good way to screw casters with a trapper.

This is what I use for arena (random arena) when I feel like trapping:

Oath Shot
Leech Signet
Barbed Trap
Flame Trap
Throw Dirt
Whilring Defense
Troll Unguent
Res Signet

16 Wilderness
14 Expertise
6 Inspiration

I love the fast recharge Leech Sig, it's so versatile and doesn't cost you any energy. It's the basic ranger trapper strategy, down the traps and if they attack you, put up whirling. Blind the warriors permanently and Unguent yourself in case there are no monks on your team.

but.. people can distract you so easily?

cant you just dump leech signet for that mantra of something which just makes you lose enegry instead of getting distracted?

That's basically it, the mantra will suck you dry and Whirling Defense is usually enough to block whatever they throw at you. It's not perfect but it beats losing 4 or 5 energy every time they swing at you. And besides your greatest threat is usually a warrior which you'll end up blinding anyways.
